Volunteering

Pet Rescue is open every day of the year from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM. We maintain a healthy environment for the animals, making sure their kennels or pens are clean and that have fresh water. We also attempt to bathe all the animals, which is sometimes difficult due to a shortage of volunteers. But the most important thing we do at the shelter is to give the animals attention. They love it. Check out our Shelter Video on YouTube.com.

All new volunteers must start on a Saturday or Sunday when there is a trained volunteer to guide you through the shelter and its needs. After orientation, weekday hours will be considered. We are located at 3440 NW 191st Street, Miami (not far from Dolphin Stadium). It is important to wear old clothes, since you will probably get dirty. Be sure to bring a snack and beverage (we have a refrigerator to keep it cool).

We are a 501(c)3 organization (nonprofit) and welcome Eagle Scout projects. All projects must be approved by the President of Pet Rescue, Inc. Please call 305-621-8354 to make an appointment to come to the shelter.

REMEMBER: You MUST be 18 years of age to volunteer (except for Eagle Scout projects).

Community Service hours are accepted on a case-by-case basis and must be approved by our President. Call 305-621-8354 and leave a message for our President to contact you.

See you at Pet Rescue.

E-mail us at petrescuemiami@aol.com to let us know when you will be visiting the shelter.
